A portal to the sky

The sheet works the way the sky does. It's called Rayleigh scattering: bluer light scatters within the sheet, warmer light reflects straight back. That's why the surface glows a luminous sky blue, with the light source reflected as a bright white sun.

The LED sits at the bottom of the arm and shines up at the sheet. Nothing shines down at you directly: the room fills with soft, indirect brightness that feels natural even at very high intensity.

Liquid cooled

Water flows silently through the fixture to cool the LED. It never needs maintenance, and there is nothing to plumb in.

Most ceiling lights rely on air cooling, which limits how bright they can run continuously. Liquid cooling is why Sunday can hold full brightness all day, in silence - at most 25 dB(A) at 1 metre, quieter than a refrigerator.

Sunday creates a new category of lighting indoors. It brings 40 times more brilliance and cutting edge colour quality to any room.

Vivid luminosity

The human eye is a remarkably dynamic instrument - a normally-sighted person can see perfectly in a low-lit living room (about 100 lux) and in full sunlight (about 100,000 lux). Indoor spaces are commonly lit only with up to 500 or 1,000 lux, and outside on a cloudy day, you might see about 5,000 lux.

Sunday brilliantly illuminates a huge area with 5,000 lux and higher, reaching 10,000 lux within 60 cm of the sheet. Other lights designed to mimic sunlight can achieve significant lux values only at very limited ranges (for example, one popular SAD lamp advertises 10,000 lux within 10 cm of the light itself).

In total, Sunday produces up to 34,500 lumens.

Vibrant colours

Sunday delivers this huge output without feeling overwhelming. Modern high-fidelity LEDs, like the one that powers Sunday, have CRI values* of 97 and above, meaning that every object under Sunday will appear as vibrant as it would outside.

*The Colour Rendering Index (CRI) is a common measurement for the quality of an artificial light source. The higher the CRI value (up to 100) the closer the light is to matching sunlight in its ability to represent colours correctly.

Most SAD lights are simply not that bright.

Indoor environments are typically 50 - 100x dimmer than daylight. Your eyes adjust, so spaces feel bright, but your circadian system knows the difference. Traditional SAD lamps can deliver the required intensity, but only inches from your face.

Sunday produces 25 - 80× the light of typical SAD lamps, allowing daylight-level brightness to be experienced naturally across a space, rather than through close, focused exposure.

In sync with daylight

Sunday features a colour changing light output, from bright daylight (6000 K) to a warm evening light (2650 K), following the sun through the day. Deep dimming means that Sunday isn't just a sunlight machine - it can be as soft and soothing in the evening as it is powerful in the daytime.

Set it up for automatic adjustment: bright, cooler daylight as the sun rises, warmer daylight through the afternoon, and very warm, low light in the evening. You don't have to think about your light unless you want to - just enjoy it.

Install it anywhere

Sunday is as easy to install and use as any other chandelier. Our design principle was "a sunny day, any day, in any room."

We recommend a ceiling height of at least 240 cm for the best effect. Each light is handmade in London, with delivery and professional installation available in the US, UK, and Europe.
